Our commission serves to educate both men and women in the community on all the issues that the commission considers to be relevant, provides information on violence against women, works in collaboration with Academic Affairs to address all curriculum related issues pertaining to women and assist individual women with specific university and community issues and concerns. We also work in collaboration with the State and Federal Affairs Commission to inform students of relevant legislation.
As sponsors of Take Back the Night, we are excited to welcome the student body to take part in an internationally held rally intended as a protest against rape and other forms of sexual violence during the week of April 18-24th during spring quarter. In addition, the commission helped rally sideline support for the Walk a Mile in Her Shoes event fall quarter and is looking forward to Diversity Week during spring quarter. This year, we are also collaborating with other student organizations like POWER to put together a Romance and Responsibility Week February 7-13th.
Please feel free to come by Baker 305 during my office hours, or voice any comments or concerns to my e-mail at vc300509@ohio.edu. Women's Affairs’ weekly commission meeting is open to all students in the Women's Center (Baker 403) every Thursday at 8 PM to brainstorm new programs and better serve the needs of women on our campus.
