This Commission creates an awareness of LGBTA issues on campus; gathers and publicizes information of importance to the students who fall under the commission's jurisdiction; sponsors Pride Week; works in collaboration with the City and County and State and Federal Affairs Commission to inform students of relevant legislation; and assists LGBTA students who have grievances against the university. As a commission we are working to make sure that every student is represented through advocacy, outreach and working with administrators.
We work hand in hand with the LGBT Center for programming and facilitating the LGBTA Leadership Council, a group of LGBTA related student leaders. So far this year we have focused mainly on reaching out to student organizations, as well as the issue of Gender Neutral Housing on Campus.
